Day 51: Glasses Half Full

“You go to school, you get a master's degree, you study Shakespeare and you wind up being famous for plastic glasses” (Sally Jessy Raphael)

One of my favorite things about mom is her
impressive collection of glasses. I LOVE her old cat-eyes from the early 60s, her large (and oh-so-stylish) peepers from the 70s and 80s and her bedazzled shades from the 90s. Mom, just like good old Sally quipped, you have accomplished a lot (A LOT!) but for this one silly post, you will be famous for your glasses! We love you!

  1. Great post! It's also quite impressive that mom didn't lose or break more pairs of her glasses considering the number of times her children's (or husband's!) glasses were drowned, fangled, cracked, melted, or bent.

Also, kudos to Ruthie for abandoning the transition lenses on her own volition...I still hold the tiny dancer close if you know what I mean.

Note to Maggie...do a tribute to dad's overalls when it's his turn :-)

  2. hahaha very funny about the overalls. I do think it's unusual that mom's glasses have been so long-lasting. Love the new look, mom!
